Sumatra
Sumatra is one of the largest islands in Indonesia and is known for producing some of the world's best coffee. The island is home to several distinct coffee growing regions, including Aceh, Mandheling, Lintong, and Gayo.
Sumatra coffee is famous for its bold and complex flavor profile, which is a result of the unique growing conditions on the island. The coffee is grown at high altitudes, in volcanic soil, and in a humid climate, which contributes to the coffee's distinct earthy and spicy notes.
Harvesting & Processing
Bali Kintamani is harvested in May-July, and processed naturally via patio drying. This process can take 3-6 weeks, during which the coffee cherries are constantly watched over and turned to achieve a final product free of irregularities and consistently dried.
